You will be creating one of the most important assets you will have as an online business owner. You will be creating the irresistible offer that you will give away to prospects in exchange for their contact information. This will allow you to collect a database of leads in your autoresponder account that you can mail your offers and promotions to.

By the time you finish this module, you will have your free giveaway created and ready to give away to prospects.

Elements of a good free giveaway offer:

Irresistible. People should look at your free giveaway offer and just have to know what’s inside.

Specific. Your free giveaway offer should be specific and solve one problem for your potential customer.

Easily consumed. For your free giveaway offer, you don’t want a 300-page e-book or a two-hour long video course. You want something like a short PDF, action guide, cheat sheet or short video that can be consumed in 10 to 20 minutes tops.

Leads your prospects to your products and services. Your free giveaway should educate and inspire your prospects to take the next step and purchase your products and offers.

Delivers an end result. The prospects of downloading your free giveaway should get valuable information out of it that they can implement and get results.

Types of Product You can create:

Action guide

An action guide is often a short PDF anywhere from 3 to 10 pages that give actionable advice on achieving a very specific end result. For example, a personal trainer might give away an action guide on the top three ways to keep your metabolism burning fat all day long.

Cheatsheet

A cheat sheet can be as short as one page or slightly longer. The idea with a cheat sheet is to give a series of steps that make a complex or difficult process easy to follow in a concise format.

For example, an “8 step cheat sheet to writing the perfect blog post.”

Click Funnels

Video

A free giveaway video is almost like a cheat sheet or action guide in video format. It is typically a 5 to 15-minute long video that walks somebody through a specific process to get a specific result.

The same examples used in the prior two types of giveaways could easily be recorded as a video as well. If the niche audience you are targeting typically likes to consume more visual content you may consider doing a video instead.

Videos are great because they are generally perceived as a higher value than ebooks. However, the only downside is that it takes longer to create a video course. For some, creating videos might be really easy.

The format of the videos could be either you talking on camera and presenting or tutorial style on your screen showing viewers how to do something.

Ebook

Ebooks are by far the easiest way to start selling online. You could write about a topic around your expertise, compile it into a PDF and it’s ready to sell.

Ebooks are convenient because they are generally small in file size and can be viewed in all computers and devices.

Software

Probably the most difficult out of all the digital business methods is creating software. You can see this as a good thing because there’s less competition in software. When getting software developed, just make sure to be very specific and detailed. Developers tend to create software based on what you specify, nothing more.

Membership site

This may be a little more advanced and ideally should be pursued as an additional business to your existing. You can start a membership and start charging members on a monthly basis. It’s a great way to increase your customer lifetime value and make more from the same customer.

Blogging

This is a great way to start in the digital space as you’re sharing content freely and building your authority in the market. In fact, blogging should be a must in your marketing plan because there are so many benefits such as gaining free traffic, building followers and your authority. Consistency is the key to blogging. Post regularly and consistently and you’ll build a loyal following.
